    Can't redeem minecraft java after owning minecraft bedrock


    I've had this issue since minecraft released the ability to play both games as long as you own minecraft bedrock and or java, I own bedrock and it shows a play button when I go to java and then asks me to input a username, I've inputed many different usernames and it just kept saying 'failed to create profile'. I've looked online and the best I found was go to the minecraft website and input it there but when I go to the website, it tells me to 'buy now'. Has anyone had this issue and if you have solved it, can you help me?

    if i got the minecraft java redeem code and i redeemed it will i get bedrock for free or i need to buy the redeem code of the java & bedrock ???

    Thanks alot Ben and im doing well but i meant if i want to get a minecraft java redeem code will i get minecraft bedrock also cuz Im thinking about buying minecraft java redeem code and because minecraft did the java & bedrock edition together that means that i will get minecraft bedrock too

    So I go to minecraft java and bedrock edition and then click redeem a code under the three dots. After that i wait for it purchase. Then i got to the xbox app go into the microsoft acc that has minecraft on it then i will be able to access minecraft bedrock and java edition. I am correct right?

    You purchased Minecraft for Windows, right? If so, and you are able to play Minecraft for Windows just fine but cannot get Java for free, you will need to contact Mojang support.

    Rest assured that they will give you the Java Edition. Some players also had this issue and contacting them solved the problem.

    As previously noted. Microsoft owns Minecraft, however Minecraft Java is not a Microsoft or Xbox game. The PC equivalent is “Minecraft Windows 10 edition” the Java version is a separate game not part of Minecraft bedrock, their-for not cross play with other devices.

    Xbox owns W10 edition not Java edition
