"Cant Recognize Game" Xbox app game dvr uploading issue,

Since i've been recording fortnite game clips on my PC, i haven't been able to upload a single one. Everytime i try to upload one it says, "Can't recognize game". I've tried changing tags around, using xbox beta and choosing a game, or adding fortnite to
my game list and it wont work. If anyone can help that would be great.

Fortnite PC not uploading to xbox dvr

I can't upload my screenshots and clips of fortnite to xbox dvr from the win 10 xbox app. Windows and Xbox is fully updated. the error is "We do not recognize this game"

Xbox app won't let me upload because of naming. (Even if name is appropriate)

There are several reasons that can cause this issue on the Xbox app. It is possible that the profile name that you want to use is already taken by another user.

To properly isolate your concern, kindly provide us the following information:

Are you trying to put a title to the video clip that you recorded from Game DVR?

Does the same issue occur when you are uploading a video clip from a different game?

When was the last time that you were able to upload a video clip from Game DVR?

In some cases, the said error message appears if the video clip that you're trying to share came from a game that was not purchased from Microsoft Store. Can you tell us if you're getting the same issue on other games on your computer? Also, have you checked
if your Xbox app is updated?

In the meantime, I recommend that you run the Windows app troubleshooter to scan and repair your Windows apps. You may refer to this

link to run the troubleshooter.

So you want to click on the recording and select open folder. Then, right click on the clip and click properties. Click on the details tab and remove anything from the part that says tags and replace it with this tag: 2!!267695549!!0

Now this should upload, as it will recognize the game as fortnite.

Hi Rastigan,

The only videos that are eligible for upload is if they have been recorded using the Game DVR, if a video is taken from Game DVR and edited externally, the Xbox App will recognize the file as external and not allow it to be uploaded.
