    Can't purchase or play movies from Xbox one movies app?


    When I click to purchase a movie a message pops up saying this Xbox won't be able to play any purchased movies and won't allow the transaction to start. I have never had this problem renting or buying through the app before this.

    No option to buy content in Movies and TV

    I have tried to purchase and watch a number of movies and/or TV episodes from the marketplace today on my Xbox One and it's not letting me do so. I can't even find a purchase option for the movie/TV episode. I can play trailers but I can't buy a movie
    to watch. Is there a known issue that I'm unaware of? I am running the latest update that was released this week.

    Can't purchase movies and tv on Xbox one.

    Yes I am trying to purchase from the Movies & TV store on Xbox one and it won't let me buy any movies or tv shows. I can't even get to the purchase phase because when I click on the movie or tv show it won't even do anything, I can just keep clicking without
    it going to the purchase phase.

    yes ive had this problem recently too. Have had issues with films and tv since e3, and this is the latest from recent preview updates. Thought i was the only one! Tried hard resetting and unplugging for 5 mins, but it hasnt helped.

    All of your purchased movies and TV shows are stored online and synced across the devices you use with your Microsoft account. To watch the movies that you purchased from your Surface device to Xbox One, make sure that you are logged in using the same Microsoft
    account. Then, you may go to the Movies & TV app on your Xbox One to watch the movies or TV shows that you purchased.

    Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. I'm afraid there is no feature to transfer purchased movies from the Xbox One console from a USB drive to your laptop. However, you should be able to watch these movies on your laptop if you have a Windows 10 device
    & the Movies & TV
    app     installed. If you sign in under the account that purchased those movies, you should be able to watch them through the app.

    If you are talking of movies you have purchased from the Films & TV app, then you do not need to do anything, as the Xbox 360 and Windows 10 have their own Films & TV app, just log in on the device you want to watch those movies, and then launch the app.
    Your movies should show.

    If you have movies that you have purchased elsewhere and using the app to watch them. You only need to turn on the play to option on the xbox 360, then when you start the app on Windows 10, start a movie, then in the bottom corner of the film there will
    three dots. Select it, and choose cast to device. The Xbox 360 should show up. select it, and it should play on your console.

    How to download movie from Xbox Video on Xbox One?

    FWIW - This also seems to apply to movies previously purchased from the 360. In so far as - if you purchased a movie from Xbox Video at any point, you cannot download it on Xbox One - only stream.

    So when they pull the movie from the marketplace, you lose the movies you purchased..
