Can't purchase Gold, no past due charges.

When I go to buy Xbox live Gold a screen comes up both on xbox and my computer that says "Try that again. Something happened on our end." I've tried this since yesterday and I think the problem is that the billing didn't go through in November when I stopped
playing because I got a new credit card. However, I changed the card on my account, and it still says "Next charge on 11/16/19" and, obviously, it's past that date.

You can purchase Xbox Live Gold as long as you don't have a past due.

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that it can be frustrating when you are unable to purchase Xbox Live Gold due to a past-due subscription. The past-due subscription will need to be paid before another subscription can be purchased.

if you are unable to recover that account and want to stop the charge for Live Gold or Game Pass you should contact your bank or credit/debit card provider and stop the payments at that end.

this will mean that a past due balance will need to be cleared before you can make any purchases on that account should you manage to retrieve it.
