Cant play Xbox One games offline.

I work on a ship and take my Xbox One with me, my last trip out I was extremely annoyed when I went to play our daily game of Fifa with a buddy but could not launch the game. The problem was I had downloaded a update while home last, but because I had not
launched the game while connected to live it had not finished the final part of installation. The update was download, and installed, but I guess Xbox live needs to validate the install or something. To do this you must manually launch the game while on Xbox
Live. Unfortunately Dead Rising and Assassins Creed were the same. Microsoft need to fix this with a update so people don't get caught out. Now before I sail I put in every game I own and make sure the updates are all Download, installed and validated. But
I should not need to do this.

Xbox One local profile

We need local profiles to play offline, its ridiculous you cant play a game offline just because I cant download a profile when I could just create one locally.

 

What is Microsoft going to do seeing how I couldn't use my xbox one even offline for well over an hour!?

I have this same issues every time the Xbox one live network goes down I cant even login offline and as much as the network has gone down on me since launch the not even being able to login offline and play games offline is getting old because every body
know that if you cant sign in to your profile you cant play from your save game

 

You can play Xbox One games offline. You just need to make sure the game has completely installed the update. Because updates download automatically, Xbox still wanted you to know that the game had an update and therefore prompts that popup to "finish" the
install.

As you said you work on a ship, I would recommend putting your console into energy-saving mode. This effectively makes it operate like the 360 did, where off is off, and on is on. As a result, updates are not automatically downloaded but you are instead
prompted to install updates when you start up a game and are connected to the web. This way games won't download updates without your direct knowledge and you'll be ready for offline whenever.
