Cant play the story mode on MK11

Hi, sorry for the super late response, was super busy and decided to repair my pc, after doing all the steps shown, it still wouldn't work but I found a fix. (maybe)

The first time I downloaded the Xbox app was from google and when I downloaded mk11 from there, the "choose what to install" tab was broken and I wasn't able to see what the options were.

after I did all the steps shown, I decided to uninstall the game and Xbox app entirely, and then download the Xbox app from the Microsoft store, when I download mk11 from the Xbox app now, the "choose what to install" tab is perfectly fine, and there are options to download the story mode. I don't know if every step is needed, but that could be the fix.

P.S I don't know if my explanation makes sense or not, if it didn't, then I'm sorry, English isn't my first language.

A:
-this is happening on PC,
-I'm on windows 10,
-there's a screenshot of the problem (as I said, the game said that I don't have the story installed but on the box app it says I do (the DLC installed on the Xbox app is called "MK11: Aftermath Story)),
-the first time I downloaded the game it was from the Microsoft store, for the second time I switched to the xbox app, I don't know if it makes any difference

Just to confirm, the game was installed using the Xbox app. Right?

Please try this:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available (Install optional updates as well)

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services and update everything too.

Now, sign out from your account on both Xbox app and Microsoft Store and do this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Then do the same for the Xbox app and MK11 app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then reset

Finally do this:

Step 1: Open the Run window by pressing Windows + R key.

Step 2: Input WSReset.exe in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then a command prompt window will appear. After a few seconds, Windows Store will open.

Sign in again on both Microsoft store and Xbox app with your account and check the game.

If maybe that doesn't work do this:

Reinstall Gaming Services using powershell command

Press Windows key + X and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

Type or copy / past the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

Restart the PC and Open the Xbox application.



A blue notification with the following message is going to appear at the bottom:

"This app needs an extra component. Gaming Services is needed for playing some games. Administrator approval required. Install"

Select Install to reinstall Gaming Services, once installed check again

Out of all the games you stated i would go with red dead redemption2 has a good story and decent replayablity since it has an online mode. Sekiro and DMC5 are both story driven games meaning once youve beaten it its less likely that you will play them
again or as often (not saying you wont everyone is different). MK11 is kinda in the same boat i mean you could take the time to beat the game with everyone just to see there story outcome but that usually only takes a few sessions. So i would wait until the
price drops on sekiro dmc5 and mk11 just to save a few bucks.
