Can't play Portal 2 split screen on Xbox One

I was playing Portal 2 split screen with my kid, my kid logged in as a guest.

The next day when we tried to play together again, I no longer have the option to have player 2 log in as a guest. So we were prompted to download my kid's user profile, which we did. But when we try to play split screen, we get a notice that the profile "was not fully downloaded."

We also no longer have the ability to play with me logged in + a guest.

I've tried force quitting the application, logging in with my kid's account first, etc, and nothing has worked. Please help.

In this case, I would suggest you to power cycle your console first:

1. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

Then, please clear your console 360 storage:

1. Press the Xbox button.

2. Select System > Settings > System > Storage.

3. Select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.

After that, please start the game (or a different Xbox 360 backwards compatible game) single mode using both profiles (one at a time). Make sure both profiles are downloaded to the console. Then, please try to run Portal 2 on local co-op again.

Portal 2 had the best co-op ive ever played. Played both split & over Live and both worked excellently. The split screen is vertical which i think is better than horizontal also.

Borderlands and Portal 2 are very cool split screen FPS games.... also Left 4 dead 1 and 2 are worth a look.

Just to add on to

, you can't play co-op split-screen on a single Xbox One.

You can only play on two separate Xbox One and both must have Xbox Live Gold membership.

Fret not, future Halo fps titles are confirmed to have split-screen

Unfortunately Call of Duty infinite Warfare does not support 3 player split screen. It does how ever support 2 player split screen.

So if you wish to play with 2 other people you will need a 2nd Xbox One console to do so.
