Game is lord of the rings, battle for middle earth 1 and 2.

Did some research many people have had this issue and have resorted to downloading dodgy fixes instead of Microsoft allowing old games.

I am sorry to hear that.

Sadly some of the older games protection software prevent them from working, even with the built-in compability mode on Windows.

There are some posts about this issue here, and many of them, as you have said, require the use of third-party software.

Unless the developers provide an updated installer, I don't think the normal installation will work, I am sorry.

Never mind. it must something to do with the Windows 10 games and Xbox One thing. I popped another cheev on the old 360 and it has sorted out the gamerscore issue.

I was so much looking forward to this game, cant beleive i have a high spec alienware with up to date drivers and windows 10, and it crashes when the game is about to start - tried all fixes that are available online wi th no joy - please sort this issue out as this is the only game i have ever had a prioblem with.

What games are having the issue? I know some older games weren't programed with the Xbox controllers. Try Fallout 4, I'm currently using playing that with the Xbox One controller without any problems. If not, upgrading to Windows 10 might fix the issue.
