    Can't Play Multiplayer With XBL Gold Membership


    Hello I bought the gold membership yesterday (11.16.2017) plus I bought one of the free gold games. Also I can play my free gold games but I can't play multiplayer on my Xbox One. My console is connected to internet and I'm using XBL nearly for 5 years and
    this just happened to me for the first time.

    You can't play multiplayer with a free membership. You need to buy an Xbox live gold membership to play online.

    What Happened to Free Memberships?

    In addition to onyx62is I'd like to say that you do not need a gold membership to just play games. But if you want to play online multiplayer games or use the social features of xbl like party chat you do need a gold membership.

    cyrilsneer1980 you don't seem to be on a gold membership. But a gold membership is mandatory to play online multiplayer games. And already playing with a friend online is a multiplayer match. So please get a gold membership.
