Can't play multi-player minecraft xbox one

I did everything I was supposed to and loaded up the game, went to play my 360 world and it says "You cannot play multiplayer games online because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings." I went over
my settings and multi-player is allowed. I called Microsoft support and he went over my account settings five times saying it was set up spot on. In another words he does not know why this is happening and says it is not my account settings. He can't help
me. None of my other multiplayer games ie. Diablos 3 Dead rising etc seems to have this problem just minecraft. Can someone please help figure out why I can't play minecraft multiplayer as this is the only reason I bought it for me and my hubby to play.

Another +1 here - my girlfriend has this problem too. Can you guys say if you have Gold accounts yourselves or if you are on an xbox where someone else has a gold account ?

I have the gold account in our house, and I have no problems playing online, but my girlfriend who get gold through having her account on the same xbox as mine cannot.

 

Same problem here. My account with Gold works fine, but my son's account gets this message. He does not have gold, he plays on the same console as me. His settings allow Join Multiplayer. Now he is playing on my account... Please help!

 

Same problem. My son's account cant't access online game mode via my gold account. First had to make him an adult to get past the annoying privacy warning despite his live account being set to play online. After making him an adult, if online mode is
checked in minecraft it will freeze and then crash to xbox home screen. If I uncheck online mode, then he can create a world with no problem. Please fix this bug.

 

We're having the same problems. My daughter used to have her own gold account, but is now setup under family. Her privacy settings are set to allow online multiplayer gaming.

Yes... We asked to be friends with 3 other people and all three failed to connect at the last step. It said you are not friends with this person. Then said failed. We rebooted, re-friended and we were voice chatting perfectly. Minecraft just has security
issues. I am Terr4 support for my job. Still could not get my son connected.

 

I am also having this issue. My friend and I were playing a few hours ago just fine. But now we both can not connect to any games. Also the friends app isn't working. (Can't retrieve friends right now) message. I hope there is a quick fix soon.

 

I don't know if this will help but a really helpful guy from Microsoft support helped me and it worked. I can now play multi-player with no trouble. This is what we did - I removed my profile from Xbox one turned my Xbox off at the power button, waited 30
seconds , put my profile back on went into my settings which I had as custom then put it on adult settings, loaded minecraft up it worked, exited Minecraft, then I went back into my settings and customised them again loaded up Minecraft and it still worked.

I had the same problems.... I could play fine (my main gold account but none of my kids who share my account can play and/or even start the game on their own signed in under their name. The way I found around this was to start the game solo as myself and
then they press start and join the game once it has already started only way it has worked for me. Before when they tried to sign in at the create world screen it made a loud buzzing sound and reboot minecraft everything.

For everyone who is having trouble playing local Multi-player...... Boot the game up soon with the main gold account and then get your shared profiles to join the game after it has already started (this could not be done on 360 but is a new feature on the
Xbone version) just press start with the controllers once the game has already started and it works great for me
