Cant play Minecraft Bedrock Multiplayer

When I go to the server tab in Bedrock I get a message that says "You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow Multiplayer. See instructions for changing these settings at aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp." I went to the website and made sure that all my Multiplayer settings were on allow and signed out and back in Xbox console companion, restarted my pc and Minecraft. Even after allowing every Multiplayer setting it still gave me the same message. I decided to make a new account to see if it was my internet. When I opened Bedrock with my new Microsoft account it let me play Multiplayer. I was going to just use that account to play Bedrock but I had everything on my other account. Any ideas why I can't play multiplayer?

If your settings via https://account.xbox.com/settings are all set to "allow" let's then check your subscription if you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Kindly check if you have them as active by following the steps below:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.

If there is no Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate active on your end, you need to subscribe.

To be honest, in most cases, your account is being detected as child account if you are getting that error message so you need to add it under a family account.

Simply put. No. It is not currently possible to play local multiplayer Java to bedrock Minecraft. (assuming your not running the Minecraft PS4 Edition of Minecraft). Which would still be no. There are plugins for java that allow bedrock clients to connect to java servers but that feature is not on current consoles. Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy gaming!

Has your friend only tried playing multiplayer with Minecraft or has he tried another game aswell?

There is also 2 versions of the game on Xbox.

Minecraft: Xbox one edition

And Minecraft.

The last one is the bedrock version of the game which is crossplay enabled for windows 10, mobile, xbox one and Nintendo switch.

To play multiplayer on bedrock you will meed to be on the same update version which at the moment is 1.9.0. Anything higher is part of the beta for the next update to be released.
