Can’t play Games With Gold games: Borderlands 2 and Pre-sequel

Trying to launch Borderlands 2 or Pre-Sequel fails with message “Do you own this game or app?” 0x893f8001. I downloaded these two games via Games With Gold but I can no longer launch them.

Things I’ve tried:

1) Restarted Xbox One X

2) Uninstalled Pre-Sequel, tried to reinstall but theres no option in the store on the console, it just directs me to the Handsome Collection bundle. On the website when i visit the game page i very briefly see a button “Get It Now” but then it disappears.

3) Signed out of my account and back in

4) Switched to a different Gold account on the same Xbox

5) Made sure my One X is my home console, I even removed it as my home console then readded it.

#2 leads me to believe this is a bug with Games With Gold that later are removed from the store and added to bundles.

My history: I bought a Scorpio Edition from the company store on launch day. I have set the X as my home console, and I downloaded the game originally in the same account, so I should have at least 1 license on thise console or my account.

Sidenote: i tried posting to the error codes forum but the code was not found, which i find odd for what seems to be a relatively common error code. Is that search broken in Safari?

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel ... Not on Xbox One?

Backwards Compatibiliy questions

I know that Xbox One has Borderlands: Handsome Jack Collection, which contains Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. However, I currently own Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on XBox 360. Borderlands 2 is backwards compatible, while
the Pre-Sequel is not. Is there a plan to make it Backwards Compatible? and what is the ETA? I don't think it is fair to make me purchase the Handsome Collection after purchasing these 2 games. Please let me know what Xbox is planning to do.

Are you sure the code is 0x893f8001 and not
0x803f8001? It seems that the problem is related to the license of the game. Try checking in your
order history to verify that the license is owned by the account. If everything is ok, try to consult the "Ready to Install" section of the console to find the game.
