Can't play f2p online game even though I am in the beta ring

I forgot about LoL! it was ok when I played it, i couldn't get into it though.

the problem with F2P is most people play the crap ones for 2 minutes then decide all F2P is bad. but LoL, dust514, lord of the rings online is free now, and DC universe online. all free to play now and the buy shop isn't terrible.

Not all Insiders have access to not requiring gold for f2p games at the moment.Only Alpha/Alpha skip ahead & Beta rings are testing it.If you are not in any of those rings then you will still need a gold sub at the moment.

I feel you on this. Playstation allows players without there online subscription to still play Fortnite because it is a F2P game.

I really hope Xbox can do something about this. Having to pay a monthly cost to play a free game makes no sense to me even though it is an online game.

That is a big reason as to why i switched from console to PC.. PC players don't have to pay for online subscriptions.

@Pyramid, it's an MMO that did not have a fee to play, what's not F2P about that?

Now you don't even have to buy the disk, so it's most defiantly absolutely F2P.

Playing online has never been free. Even if you play F2P games like Apex Legends, you will need a paid subscription (Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate)
