Can't pay with my local currency

So I have $41.51 in my account but I can't buy anything with it. On my Xbox it keeps asking for my personal info and credit cards and stuff so I tried to do it online and it says I have no payment option selected. When I try to add my current
account as the payment option all that shows up is credit card or paypal as the only two options. How do I get this thing to deduct from my account?

EA Access

Why cant I pay for EA Access with my local currency, I mean this has gone on for a year and Microsoft you and EA are being useless.

As far as I know, you can't use your balance to make purchases on Xbox.com and have to use options like a credit card or Paypal.

I'd suggest finding a way to get through those personal info and credit card prompts on your console and make your purchases through there, because you can definitely use your balance there.

The console was where this problem started from. When I tried to make my first purchase from the xbox 360, it went directly into asking for billing info. I wasn't about to fill any of that out especially since I was using an outstanding amount in my account
from gift cards. I don't trust any of that since Sony, Steam and a few others got hacked this year and especially not after that whole heartbleed fiasco.

Found the answer on my own. The MS/Xbox site is completely useless in this regard. I found that a web search didn’t fare much better as they are all moderated and most results looped back to MS/Xbox.

In any case, for anyone else that also has this problem. You are SOL. Microsoft will NOT allow you to make any purchase WITHOUT an alternate form of payment such as Visa/Mastercard/Paypal. This effectively negates the purpose of a prepaid card.

So if you are…

1)A child or a young adult, you will not have a visa and unless your parents lend you their’s, you are SOL

2)A parent of a child or young adult and you wish to use prepaid to prevent your children from overspending or maxing out your credit card, you are SOL

3) If you are the other half of the population that doesn’t trust online security given recent hacks to the other sites and the current Heartbleed virus, you are SOL

I’m going to try and dig out an old Visa Cash card as I’ve heard that that works.

If you're signed into your account on the X1 and you go into Settings and then select Payment and Billing, you'll see large squares to the right with all your CC info and underneath that you should see a line that says, "In your Microsoft Account: $X.XX".
