    when scrolling down, bounces back and forth between what I am on and the one thing below it, but no further. will go side , but won't let me actually click on anything.

    Happens with a plugged in controller and with wireless (tried 4 different ones)



    Tried soft reset, multiple times, then got hard reset instructions with the buttons on the console (because I couldn't get into settings.), now I can't get past the set your language screen because it is still happening.

    Please help! Console is 1 month old...

    If you have a plug/play charge kit uSB cable plug it into one of your wireless controllers and press the controller Nexus button to turn the console on.

    If you get the Dashboard screen follow this
    Update your controller firmware
    support site to guide you through steps to take.

    Make sure to update every controller.

    Hello dragonflyrider1,

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to navigate through the menus of your Xbox One. Is your console enrolled in the

    Xbox Insider Program
    ? We recommend performing
    a soft factory reset
    . This type of factory reset will keep all games and applications installed, but it will remove all the profiles from the console. Therefore, the email address and password for those accounts must be known before this step is taken.
    If you are unable to access the settings in order to perform a soft factory reset, you will need to access the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. We will provide instructions on how to access the troubleshooter. Be sure to let us know the results dragonflyrider1!

    How to access the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter:

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
      EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
      Xbox button on the console.
      Note The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition does not have an
      EJECT
      button. You can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the
      BIND button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button.
    4. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
      BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    To reset your console from the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, use the
    D-pad and A button on your controller to select
    Reset this Xbox. When prompted, select Keep my games & apps.

    OK,, so my daughter figured this out, one of our plugged in controllers was face down and was "competing" with the controller we were trying to use, see if that is the problem : )

    I have a similar problem, have tried myltiple hard and soft resets but when the dashboard eventually appears I can't navigate it or get to setting to try a factory reset??? HELP!!!!!

    I hadn't tried the hard restart yet but as fas a trying to get the account off i can't select anything. I don't think i can even navigate enough to do that.
