Can't navigate around the site to change gamertag

I'm trying to look around the website and following links from the xbox app to change my gamertag but I keep getting redirected to one single support page.

loving this game, though i feel like im consantly going the wrong way, every building and street looks the same and I cant get a sense of direction without a minimap on my hud, any suggestions?

and while im trolling for help, anyone know why when the cops tell me come visit them in the musuem to get a new gadget, I cant get back into the iceburg lounge. It was annoying clearing that building out again only to find teh iceburg lounge locked.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There are 2 ways to change your gamertag. First way would be through the website

Go to the Change gamertag page at
account.xbox.com.

Sign in using the Microsoft account email address and password associated with your gamertag.

Enter your new gamertag, and then select Check Availability.

Once you find an available gamertag, click Claim it.

Note If your gamertag was created for you when you initially signed up for Xbox (meaning you did not choose it yourself), you can change it one time for free. Additional Xbox gamertag changes cost extra.

If you created your own gamertag at signup and want to change it, you will be charged (fee varies by region and currency).

I checked somewhere and it says the name isnt in use. Either way if it was taken I would like to change it to something else

The legacy tag shows with the number because you were given a suffix. In areas that haven't been updated to work with the new gamertag policy, it will show the numbers added to the tag. Even if you were to try changing it on a 360 to the same name without the numbers, it wouldn't let you since the name is already in use.

You're not understanding his question. It's not a question of a gamertag being in use, it's the fact that you are unable to change the legacy gamertag without first changing your new gt that can be whatever you choose. Only then can you hit customize on the legacy tag, which is still the primary tag in games. In his case he has the tag he wants therefore he isn't able to change the tag progressing him to the needed screen to customize the legacy tag. The problem is Microsoft added a "new" gt system without removing the previous then screw it up further by only allowing one to be customized.

The easiest way would be to pull up the full profile page on the console and there should be like an edit button. From there you can navigate around the screen and one of the options is to change your gamertag. Be careful, it costs 10 dollars.
