Can't manual save only auto?

On my Xbox One I can not manual save I can only auto save. Has anyone else had this happen. Is there a way to fix this. Would starting a new character fix it. Thanks for any help.

Patch 1.07 installed = Must start new game

The only bug I've run into since the patch is twice now after leaving a cut scene/conversation, the game "thinks" I'm in combat. No enemies in the middle of Novigrad, no automatic sword drawing, just fight music and I can't manual save or meditate. Loading
most recent save has fixed this for me. I also keep 5 saves that I rotate when I manual save, just in case anything really funky happens.

 

wont save new, only overwrites

Yeah, all the game saves are very unique. I only have 2, manual save and autosave. Only 1 character.

 

So do you see a lock over save, is the option they but doesn't do anything, or is the option removed?

 

I can load the screen. when I press the button to save it starts the circle like it's saving. Then instead of saving and going back to the game screen it just stays on the screen asking me if I want to save.

 

I'll check that out when i get back to the house, just to ask, after you've "saved" if you go to load, all you see are autosaves?

 

You can save whenever you want when the option is locked it because it's doing an autosave

 

An amazing number of problems is resolved by cold starting the X-Box One. I had several issues just to get this game to run without sitting at an endless loading screen. Turns out it wasn't the game it was the X-Box One. By clearing the X-Box One cache
that allows for quick starting in less then 30 seconds it fixed this problem as well as the later problem with only being able to Auto save. A few days after the loading screen fix I had lost electricity while playing and had thought the save file damaged
in some way. I cold started the X-Box one and it fixed that problem as well. To cold start: Make sure your X-Box One is turned off, remove the plug from the wall, wait 2 minutes, plug the X-Box power cord back into outlet, and turn on the X-Box One. You
should see the 3 little dots being highlights left to right. It can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 3-4 minutes. The second time I did this after I had lost power it took almost 4 minutes to start.

 

Save is greyed out and disabled if the game is in the process of autosaving. Just go back to the game and wait out the autosave. Then click menu again and save will be enabled.
