Let's try something different, can be a bit odd but worth try it:

Create a new outlook alias and add it to your account following this guide:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-...

Once you do it, enable that alias to sign in temporarily.
Wait 5 minutes and now try that new alias in the design lab website ( open a new incognito / private window for this purpose)

Put only your first and last name there. Once you make this change, wait up to 5 minutos. Open a new private / incognito window and try from there

Looks like there's no way at all to use microsoft account balances on Xbox Design Lab. Sales on Xbox Design Lab are handled by DR globalTech Inc, not Microsoft. So whatever balance you have can only be used through the microsoft/xbox store, not this third party provider. That is not good business.
