Cant join my friends ark survival evolved non dedicated server

My friend (who is running ark on windows 10 and also running ark on the micro soft store) is hosting a non-dedicated server. We first tried June 5th but I got a failed join message, June 6th we tried and still nothing, June 7th it finally worked after we both reinstalled the game, but June 8th I had trouble joining but it started working again. But today it is doing the same thing today June 9th. When he invites me it either loads nothing, loads PrimalGameData_BP, or loads PrimalGameData_BP multiple times then the screen flickers then it stops loading. It just tells me join failed with no error code. We both also got the game using gamepass. I think I should also mention that the only way my Ark opens is if I have my time set 2 hours backwards, if the time is set correctly ark will not open.

My friends haven’t been able to join me on ARK Survival Evolved (Non-Dedicated Session), Astroneer, Kingdom Two Crowns and there may be others I don’t remember.

The weird thing is that sometimes they can join me on those games and other times they can’t and it says “Failed to Connect”.

update: My friend now updated to windows 11 and it still will not work

Ark Survival Evolved does allow Cross-play with PC and Xbox consoles. I used my PC to host a dedicated server for about 2 months for me and a bunch of friends to play together on our own server. We all connected to the server from our Xbox consoles. Do you
have the Xbox Console Companion on your PC?

I ran Ark through this program and was able to invite my Xbox friends to it much easier. It also allowed my friends to add the server as a friend and jump in whenever they wanted. If you do not Plan on using the Xbox companion app
on your PC, you can always host your server and give your Xbox friend the server name and password that you create and they can go in to "Join an Ark" then filter the servers shown to quickly find yours and join it.
