can’t join multiplayer minecraft pe

so i downloaded minecraft yesterday because i was gonna play with my friends because we haven’t played in a long time. so i made my account and everyone could join except me. it said that the feature was blocked and on xbox it said that i couldn’t add
people as friends. since me and my friend joined as a family, my friend was the parent. i tried again by her going onto her private settings and then allowing everything for me but it still didn’t work. hope you can help

sorry to hear about your problem this can be a quite common error on Minecraft PE.

a solution for this is

uninstall the game reinstall

or you may need to restart your mobile device.

“Join Multiplayer Games” Settings
If you have your settings set to block joining multiplayer games, you can’t join any multiplayer games in Minecraft, including shared local worlds, Realms or servers. To enable multiplayer in Minecraft, make sure this setting is set to ‘Allow.’

However, just like ASCllnaut, that setting was already turned on for my children. In other words I'm in the same boat, we can play on the LAN but not on a realm.
