Cant join local player when connected to Xbox LIVE? Ugh!

So, my kids got xbox live in November and we STILL cant figure out how to connect a second LOCAL controller (my other kid) when my XBOX LIVE profile is playing in someone else's hosted world.

Is it impossible? Is there anyway I can get it to happen without springing for a second XBOX LIVE subscription?

Thinking of making a new account

Account license - required to be connected to xbox live, is rather like a public license that is checked when loading a purchased game online. If you are not connected, they cant check.

Console.licenses. The rather local license, it wont require xbox live, or being Connected to it to launch the purchased game, though a connection may apply if you cant get passed the game update screen.

Desynchronization...ugh...

This desycnc thing is up setting me i try and try i cant get a macth and when i do it happen in between and plus when i try to use my klassic coustumes i freezs and says desync as well

When WE are hosting the game, my second local controller can connect without an issue as GUEST

That is a good question, and I'm sorry I don't know the answer to it. (Not that this helps) I know you can do that with games like Halo. I've connected to an online game with myself (Gold member) and a few guest accounts. I'm surprised you can't do it
with Minecraft. I would assume at this point after all you've tried, that it is unable to do so.

Ugh! There's still a bug that keeps me from joining partys'. I tried joining my friends party but it kept on saying can't connect to xbox live party, same for my friends, they can't join my party's unless they reset their (turn off/turn back on) xbox.

This is so stupid! Cant believe this stupid ***! My friend was 31-0 on MW3 and we both got kicked off! I'm going to rip my Xbox off the wall and slap someone with it! Its all about this stupid Xbox live connection. "You cant connect to live: ERROR!" Ugh!
So I need live to download the update yet I need the Update for Live. WTF?
