Cant join friend on insurgency sandstorm getting ms-multiplayer error

Im getting the you'll need a new app to open this ms-xbl-multiplayer link error when i try to join a friend both on pc his using gamepass and i got the game from steam? Very annoying

This is a known issue with this game.

There is no current solution for this, most players let the host pick a server and then they search for that same server name.

Hello Gustav, the Insurgency Sandstorm does not have a version for PC, in case you get to play it through Xcloud.

well the xcloud version looks like and excuse my french ****. and the argument (insurgency Sandstorm does not have a version for PC) is weird becuse steam has a pc version of it?
