Can't install XBOX game on new XBX 360

Hi All,

I recently had to replace our 360 as the reader would no longer read discs. I bought a refurbed 360e, and a 120gb hard drive. When I attempt to play an old XBOX game, I do not get the choice to install the game, in other words no X button as one of the choices
when I highlight the game.

I've read it could be that I didn't purchase a genuine xbox hard drive. If that's the case I have no problem purchasing one, but I was just wondering if there's something else I'm missing.

The hard drive can be used for saves, content downloaded from the Xbox store (games, add-ons, etc.), and 360 games installed from discs. Official hard drives also include some system files that are required to run original Xbox games as well as a handful
of 360 games.

OK thanks. So the hard drive is just for saves and such?

Original Xbox games cannot be installed like 360 games. So that's actually functioning properly. You should be able to just run the game from the disc. If it starts giving you issues then, then it could be a hard drive issue.

Have you bought this Xbox One brand new or a used one? remember that xbx 360 disc are region locked so you must use a disc from the same regione of the console.
