Can't Install my "Age of Empires 2 DE" onto my Windows 10 or my Xbox One X

I bought AoE2 DE but when I go to install it I am presented only with the option (in Microsoft Store) of buying it again or joining XBox pass. Instead of a 4K Television, I am using a 4K monitor, My Xbox One X says I have the necessary hardware for 4K
(I'm using an 8K HDMI cable) but acts as though I don't have 4K when I try to install. Maybe my 4K monitor isn't enough, but after spending $300 for the Xbox I hate needing to buy even more hardware. Yet that may indeed be the problem (no 4K TV). I just want
to be sure, before I return the Xbox (since AoE2 DE is the only XBox game I'm interested in) but if a 4K TV is essential I'll have to choose between buying one or returning the XBox. I'm just hoping there might be a workaround.

That is what I'm trying to do, download or install doesn't matter. There is no option to download, only to install, which leads me to the page where I can only buy it again. Please advise how I can download when MS Store doesn't give me the option? Thank

PS I'm running my windows 10 on a Macintosh with 12 CPU cores, maybe that could be a problem, but I run many Windows programs on my Mac, and for more than 15 years now.

PPS I did a search on my C drive, Age of Empires 2 just isn't there.

Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition is not available on Xbox. It is only a PC game. You can purchase it from the Microsoft store either on Microsoft.com, The Xbox or the Microsoft store Windows 10 app. A 4K TV isn't essential, as it is a PC only game.
You can connect the PC to the TV if you wish or continue to use a monitor.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Where did you purchase age of empires 2? Is it a digital or disk game? For the 4K issue, you can try the

troubleshoot 4k on Xbox.

The problem was that I was trying to use my chrome browser to access AoE2 DE. When I got support from Microsoft directly I watched what they were doing as I allowed them to control my computer. They used the Microsoft Store directly from within Windows 10,
that is they used the Microsoft Store app (located to the right of the Start button) avoiding the need for using any browser at all.

Now if I could just rely on the AoE2 DE (that I now have) to launch and not crash. I can use the program about 10% of the time. I don't recall any Microsoft software I ever bought that is so unstable!
