Can't install Imperator: Rome

Hello Guys,

I have a Xbox Game Pass for PC Subscription and I can't install Imperator: Rome. Actually the game was already installed but it didn't start so I deinstalled it. On attempt to reinstall the game I'm getting the following error:

Reinstall the app.

The app can't start. Reinstalling should fix it.

Error code: 0x80073cfc

(Well that's what I'm trying to do...)

On the Windows Store I'm getting the following error:

Try again later. Something happened on our end.

I've tried literally everything:

- Resetting Windows Store App

- Resetting Xbox App

- wsreset.exe

- Register all Apps

- Deleted the remaining Imperator: Rome folder from WindowsApps (I needed to delete it with [io.directory]:elete because it was inaccessibile)

- Looked in the registry for keys with its ProductId. There are none.

- Deleted SoftwareDistribution Folder

- Deleted DeliveryOptimization Folder

The Eventlog of the Store App shows Error with Event ID 2008

[Error] Creating WorkUserSID = S-1-5-21-4189739333-2888679891-3495851574-1001 CatalogId = ProductId:9NBS8BB3M72N

Error: The operation completed successfully.

As an admin I've gathered quite some experience fixing store apps issues, but with this one I'm completely lost. My only guess is that somewhere on the system are files or registry keys left that are blocking this install.

Suddenly I had a brainwave that this issue could be caused by an dependent app and it was right.

I've resetted the App "Gaming Services" and suddenly could install Imperator: Rome. The game also started.

This is how you do it:

Open the Settings app. Click on Apps. Search for "Gaming Services" and click on Advanced Options. Click on Reset.

Keep in mind that the app could be named different if your Windows language isn't English.

I kept getting errors when trying to install games.

Gears 5 now being pre loaded!

* Fingers crossed Nvidia cards do not suffer like they did in Gears 4!

Same here. Can't install on complete up-to-date system. Got the same issue with Imperator: Rome too and still not solved.

Using XBox Game Pass Ultimate is quite no fun as there are that many problems with installing games.

Can't install Imperator: Rome
