    Can't install games or apps on Xbox or pc - networking issue?


    For weeks I have not been able to install games from the windows or Xbox store. On Xbox, it just makes the chime when I click install, but nothing happens. On pc I get error 0x00000001.

    I have done a complete wipe/restart on Xbox and gone through steps to delete and reinstall the Xbox app on pc. After the pc Uninstaller, I was unable to install the Xbox app in the windows store.

    The workaround I have it to use my mobile Hotspot to start the downloads and can finish them on my normal internet connection.

    I have tried different routers with no fix.

    I am on direct point to point satellite internet through NMsurf. Is the problem due to my ISP?!

    Letts try isolating the issue first

    Please open xbox console companion app >Settings > Network and tell me what's saying on NAT type

    In the meantime try this:

    Right-click the Windows Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:
    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    In the same window, type the following commands and press Enter:
    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

    Restart your device.
    Start the Xbox application. You should see a blue banner with the following message: "This app needs an extra component. Gaming Services is needed for playing some games. Administrator approval required. Install"
    Select Install to reinstall Gaming Services.
    After the installation is complete, you should be able to install and start games again.

    did u ever figure out how to fix this, or did anyone? I have the same issue with the Game Pass app on Android, it can't detect my Xbox One that's on the same network, I can't do any remote installations & therefore can't complete the Xbox Pass quest for
    doing a mobile installation...

    Error code ox87e00005. Has anyone got a solution to this on going problem. I have tried every thing. New Xbox. Power cycle, Resets, clearing locally saved games,

    I've the same problem and have tried the same things as you've listed. Both my X and original Xbox are stuck with this error. Apps will install, but no games will.

    However, if I change from my Huwaei 4g router (three network) router and use my adsl line router/network, it all installs. Albeit slowly (being the reason I got the 4g as well)

    Xbox Beta pc stuff downloads without issue on either network. So I can't even say it's three blocking large downloads from MS.

    It's extremely frustrating.

    Somewhat reluctant to change the router settings, I decided to dig out my old laptop, installed the Xbox app and tetris app onto it. It worked. Good news as it shows it must be a config issue on the PC itself - the laptop was tested on the same network.

    Any other suggestions on modifying settings on the PC itself to get the game working?
