cant install game from xbox play anywhere

That game is not a Play Anywhere title and is not available through the Microsoft Store for PC. You'd have to buy it elsewhere if you want to play it on PC.

It depends on what the games are. Only Play Anywhere titles can be bought on Xbox and played on PC without having to purchase them again (and vice versa). https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere

If the game is Play Anywhere, use the Microsoft Store app to check your library and you can install it from there.

If you click on the game in the main home screen (where it shows "Recently Added") you can install it there. It's only when you go to the full details screen that the frown face shows. Seems to be a bit of a glitch at the moment. You can also search for it in the Microsoft Store app and can install it there.

If it still doesn't work, try to reset and repair your Xbox App by going to Settings > Apps > scroll down and look for Xbox App > Advanced options > Reset and then Repair.
