Can't install Forza 4 80070005

Yeah I got this error too. Can't install at all. I've tried every fix I can find on google. ran the update assistant to make sure windows was up to do.

Renamed the windowsapp and wpsystem folders on the drive

turned UAC back on

tried toggling the default install drive

changed that setting ncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart." (it was already unchecked)

disabled my antivirus

restarted multiple times

tried to run xbox app as admin

Thanks Lucas, but I've already done that as part of renaming the folder. The folder was renamed so that the game could try to reinstall completely fresh. It has not yet successfully created a new windowsapp folder because the install immediately fails. Absolutely nothing downloads and it just instantly kicks out that error.

Edit 2:

I'm trying another browser here (nope didn't work). I tried to install a random indie game and it installed fine. if you google Forza 4 and this error you will seen numerous people complaining about it, it is a very common error apparently, but no consistent fix. There are other games that this affects as well (I haven't tried them). Some people theorize it has to do with the game asking for permission before installing and that not working properly.

Still can't reply to my own thread or any comments on this. This is utterly ridiculous. I'm installing the game on another drive, because C doesn't have the free space and it's not possible to make the space.

Mate, may I know if you are able to install Forza on another partition?

If it's on D: try installing instead on C:

As a first troubleshooting step, please try to change the folder permission on your drive:

- Press Windows + E and go to the drive where you want to install the games.

- Locate the XboxGames folder (or the WindowsApp). Check which folder is being used by Xbox App to install the games. If it's not there, you can create it. Right-click on it and select Properties.

- Go to the Security tab and select Advanced.

- Click on Continue in the Permissions tab.

- Select Change.

- Click Advanced in the Select User or Group window, then Find now.

- Select your user account and click on Ok.

- Click on Ok and Apply on every window and close them.

After making the changes, restart the computer and check if you can now install Forza. Let me know how it goes.
