Cant hear friends in parties but they hear me

I'm experiencing an identical issue as you actually. I've spent a total of about four hours with tech support and here's what we've tried.

New controller

New headset

New stereo adapter

Checking all settings (NAT type, family restrictions, etc.)

Factory reset (kept games & apps)

Finally, after all of that, the woman that was helping me did what she needed to do to replace my Xbox one elite. I just received it today and.......still no luck. I'm at a loss

Sorry to hear about the issue. I'm about to throw a whole lot of questions at you so head's up!

Is this something you experience persistently or only occasionally? What new microphone did you buy? Are you able to try your microphone on a different controller? Are you able to bring your console to a friend's house and see if your friends can hear you
from there? Also, if you >>remove your Xbox Live profile<< from your console and try again, do you experience the same issue? You can also
try to >>factory reset<< your console to see if that helps.

I understand that you are experiencing issues joining a party.
I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Based on the error you are getting, it means that the system has detected that you own a child account. Because even if you have already set your privacy and security settings to "Allow/Set to everyone" it is still not letting you join the party.

Nothing to worry because to enable you to access multiplayer all we have to do is to link an adult/ organizer account. The adult/organizer should have an adult birthdate.

To add an organizer, please sign in the parent/organizer account here: https://account.microsoft.com/family/ >; Add a member> Please add your account.

Once added, sign into your email and accept the invitation.

After that sign in the parent/Organizer account here: https://www.xbox.com/user/settings/privacy-and-... then click on your account.

Choose the option: "In Privacy & Online Safety, click Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety."
Scroll down to the second option from the bottom, stating “You can join multiplayer games“. Set this to Allow.
Click Submit to save your changes.

Please test it out and see if it works now.
