    I can advise you some things, but if the issue persist you may need to reach Google support.

    But first tell me, when you say premium benefits. Do you mean that you still see ads?
    And, what did you tried so far to fix this problem

    Sorry to hear that you have this issue. but I'm sure that this is not a way to force you buy a new Xbox One or subscriba a YouTube Premium Account. Maybe is only an obsolete App that no one on Xbox team update from years and YouTube is always working and
    updating itself, maybe this obsolete app can't work with newer youtube site/protocols.

    There is no need to upgrade your Youtube account to a Youtube Premium account. As for your app not working, chances are that the servers are no longer supported, requiring you to use a different device to watch Youtube.

    Not all Game Pass Perks work

    I've never had YouTube Premium, yet the 3 months free perk didn't work for me either. I hit Redeem code and was sent to the site to sign up for YouTube Premium. I did so, but only have one month free when I go to manage subscription in YouTube.

    Well first what you are talking about is only a YouTube premium feature

    You can't do it on any platform without that background play

    Thats nothing to do with edge

    You have to sign up for tube premium or download youtube red or other third party YouTube apps to use background play the yputubenapp.itself or the webpage won't let you do that it's built.into.the player at the API level so using the webpage to bypass the player restrictions won't work you need a player like YouTube red or newpipe .for.mobile the browser isn't really meant to play in the background especially in console it eats too much memory
