Can’t get teredo IP address on Xbox one using University internet

i currently live in the dorms at my university and im having trouble connecting to the internet via wired connection. I keep recieving the error “cant get teredo IP address” upon testing my interent connection. The xbox support site tells me to reset my
router/modem for 30 seconds but there is no possible way for me to do this since im on university internet. Is there anyway for me to fix this or will i just have to wait it out for my university IT department to fix the issue? any response would be great!

Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to assist, it sounds like you're experiencing a connectivity issue with your Xbox One. I recommend checking out this

Thanks for reaching out to us with this issue. Sorry you're having issues getting that Teredo IP address issue resolved. When it comes to using a network that is via your university, since Teredo is required for the security of communications on the servers
for Xbox Live (usually for party chat and multiplayer), you'd need to get in touch with your IT department to let them know what you're trying to do (set up your Xbox) and they'll be able to get you sorted out in no time.

If you can’t hear your friends online, or you can’t join or host an Xbox Live multiplayer game, go to
Network > Settings in the Xbox app and check
NAT type.

If it says Teredo is unable to qualify, your PC is unable to obtain a Teredo IP address.

Teredo is a networking protocol that’s used to establish secure communications between clients and servers, and to facilitate connectivity between devices behind routers that use network address translation
(NAT).

Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC
that’s disabling Teredo functionality. Without a Teredo IP address, you’ll be unable to use party chat or do multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live.
