Can't get out of beta

I have somehow found a way, you need to force the store to download the version of your choice. Message me if you want the .appx file. The 1.4.0.appx can be downloaded

To make sure that we're on the same page, did you successfully remove yourself from the Minecraft Beta via the Xbox Insider Hub on your Windows 10 device?

It turns out that this may not be an issue of Minecraft but instead the Microsoft Store itself. The store only updates when the latest version number is higher than the version of your device, even if you are initially using a Beta version. Though if you
re-opt back the to the Beta, you will continue get Beta updates.

The second possibility is that an issue occurred in the uninstalling process. Whenever you try to uninstall an app or game from the store, it only removes parts of the game file, leaving some caches. The folder Minecraft 1.x.x is still there, which is located
at C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. If you try to reinstall after uninstalling the game, the store would detect that the game is uninstalled, but instead replaces the game files back.

I have seen successful attempts though, most of them restarted their computers but mine doesn't seem to work. There are cases that removing all instances of Minecraft from registry that actually works. The only way I can see to fix
this issue is to wait a stable release. The next major release should be 1.5, which will probably be out on June.

I had a friend who was recently enrolled in the Beta and he wasn't in the Xbox Insiders program. We were able to unenroll him by deleting the game and downloading it again.

If you're an Xbox insider you may have to opt out of the beta via the Xbox Insiders app before uninstalling and reinstalling as others have said before.

Make sure that no one else that plays on your Xbox is enrolled in the Beta Program through the insiders program as well. Assuming you're using a console.
