cant get my kid to play multiplayer

Make sure that his account settings for playing multiplayer are set to allow.

To check make sure that he is under your family group via https://account.microsoft.com/family, make sure that he is added as a member. Once confirmed, go to https://account.xbox.com/settings and you will be able to manage his settings from there.

I cant get to multiplayer mode in bf4 I get the server isn't working issue but saw my friend was playing multiplayer of it. Forza 5 I cant create a private game or join any multiplayer. Same thing for dead rising 3

and they upheld my case review because they said giveaways harm xbox, what a bunch of
[Mod Removed]. I cant play multiplayer or do anything for a week because of a giveaway that kids wanted to report because they didnt win.

Getting it for my birthday Cant wait to play some of the old school maps in multiplayer and having a campaign marathon.

resolved:

on the xbox, went to setting ->disc & bluray -> bluray -> persistent storage -> clear persistent storage (was instructed specifically to do this twice in a row)

then went to setting -> network -> advanced settings -> alternate MAC address -> clear (restart when prompted)

issue resolved.

p.s. fyi the chat bot will search (probably bing) their support pages 2-3 times (worthless) and then is a portal to the "call back" system, where a tech rep calls you to help resolve your issue. who knew? idk if there's another way to get to the call back
option or not. it may require more than one call back... 1st guy didn't know what he was talking about and hung up on me. 2nd guy fixed my issue in minutes.
