Can't get Aegis Wing to play on Xbox One

Remember Aegis Wing? Cool little horizontal shooter made by students in 2007 and given away for free to all Xbox Live members, on Xbox 360.

Turns out this game is backwards compatible! Or at least it's meant to be. I had a lot of trouble downloading it to my Xbox One - had to queue it up from the web store as it wasn't showing up in the Store on the console - and now that I've got it downloaded, naturally it's asking me "Do you own this game?"

Well.... yes and no, right? It was a freebie, but I should still "own" the license to play it. But it doesn't show up in my order history - whether that's because it's 14 years old or because it was free, I don't know.

Has anyone else tried playing this game recently? Did it work?

I haven't tried to play the game though. But let's try to troubleshoot this.

First I'll suggest you sign out of the console and sign back in, then try launching the game again.

If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

- Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

- Select Reset console.

- Choose Keep Games and Apps

Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.
