Can’t find my online friends in game

I’ve been playing MLB the show 21 with a friend for about a month. Two weeks ago we were unable to play because In game shows everybody but them online. We figured it was an isssue with the game and tried to go to madden 21. Also showing friends except them online. We can be in an Xbox live party but not in a game since there’s no option to invite from Xbox it has to be in game. We both have open NAT and have tried hard reset on our Xbox’s. Deleting eachother as friends on Xbox and re adding. Clearing alternate MAC address and removing our accounts off of our Xbox’s and re adding them. I can play other friends with no issue but it doesn’t even show them as a friend in game. So we have been in Xbox parties but not able to play for over two weeks now. Does anybody know a solution for when your friend doesn’t pop up in game friends lists. Even in games when you were just playing a couple weeks ago together.

Just to make sure I understand:

You can get in Xbox Chat/Voice parties together.
This did not work for the exact same group of people but worked with other players
This happens regardless of game
You have troubleshooted possible network issues

You may need to make sure you are actually friends with them and not "Following" them - they are completely different. Once you've made sure you are friends on the system, check and make sure everyone is presenting as Online when you try. Some other factors that I don't think are likely but I will mention it anyway:

Xbox Enforcement Action - this can restrict your capabilities to play with others
User settings for multiplayer and online have been changed
Game issue. If it is not presenting within the game, you should still contact the game studio's support. This is if they are presenting on your Xbox Friends list, but not in the game - this may be a developer issue if so.

So these are the parts that make it a developer issue.

I can host parties with them on Xbox live and even invite them to games that allow inviting from the Xbox menu.
But games that show your Xbox friends list but in game they do not pop up anymore. In games where they did come up just two weeks ago

If it is an in game list of friends - not the Xbox Friends list pop up menu - there is nothing on the Xbox side of things that can be done because we cannot makes changes to that code, that's internal game code.

I don’t have a hotspot. I have my home internet. It lets me play online with everybody else but it says I am not online not joinable and I’ve been trying to add a friend who is on ps5 and we can’t seem to find one another. It just keeps telling me I’m offline not joinable
