Can't Find Matches On Black Ops 3

Hi,

I bought a TP-Link TD-W8970 router the other day and set it up normally. However, when I tried to search for a match on Black Ops 3, I could only find 1 or 2 and they were always peer to peer. So, I tried to fix it by changing my NAT type from Moderate to Open,
allocating a static IP, enabling Port Forwarding, used wired and wireless connections, enabled UPNP, created a DMZ server etc., but nothing has worked. I can still only find 1 or 2 peer to peer matches whereas with my last router I could find 50+ games on
dedicated servers.

I have recently changed providers but my old router (TalkTalk D-Link 3780) still works perfectly fine with them. The free router supplied by my new ISP (Plusnet 2704n) also had this problem that my TP-Link is suffering from, and I also tried all of the above
steps without success.

What could be the problem and solution? It's as if I can't connect to the dedicated servers. I can connect to them if I play with a friend who is the host and don't suffer from lag.

Modern Warfare 3 finding game problem

The problem occurs either when I'm on wireless, or on wired. And it's just in MW3, it finds matches easy in Gears of War 3 or Black Ops.

 

Does this happen to any of you?

I can't say I've noticed it before. I tend to have a varied range of scores in Black Ops so I do well one match and then poorly the next, and so on. Still, maybe it's because the game tries to find other lower levels or something? I don't believe the Black
Ops matchmaking works that way but it's possible all the same.

I realize you have supplied much of this information but having it the way the system sits right now really helps.

4. One Xbox 360 and one Xbox One. I never have them both on at the same time.

5. The Xbox 360 is wireless and I use wired mostly for my Xbox One unless it is having the aforementioned problems, in which case I try wireless.

7. No, my NAT type is Open both on the Xbox and the Black Ops 3 game.

Yes the TP-Link TD-W8970 is a modem/router combo. From what you are posting here I don't see anything wrong with your configuration. It appears that you are running with an open NAT and that is what you want. I don't really see anything wrong here.

 

That's exactly why I'm confused. Neither Activision, Plusnet, Microsoft or TP-Link have been able to give me a reason as to why it isn't working. Should I just return the router and continue using my old one?
