    Hello,

    I am having problems with the download/install of Forza Horizon 5 (Standard Edition).

    Initailly I managed to download it just fine, but when launchig the game i got a someting went wrong error. So i uninstalled it and now i can't download it again.

    I have tried from the Microsoft Store app and the XBOX app. I have tried directly installing the Standard edition, and also the bundle. I have tried to repair/reset the store app and Gaming services app. I have tried after disabeling the firewall. I have tried to re-register the Microsoft Store app via an elevated powershell window with the following command:

    Nothing worked Can't dowonload Forza Horizon 5 - error 0x80070424 :(

    Please note that any other game/app downloads without any problems, and also Forza Horizon 5 downloads fine o a different PC (same MS account)

    Also, in the Start Menu, the Forza Horizon 5 shortcut is still present, although the game is not installed.

    I have a strong suspicion that something went wrong with the initial download and/or uninstall, and some parts of the game are still present in the system, and this is why it can't download now.

    I also tried installing it o a different drive and from a different user account, so the conflict must be in the registries and/or in same shared file location

    Are there some specific registries I can delete so to make sure that the game is 100% removed?

    Or is there any other workaround i cand try? It seems my last option would be an OS reinstall, but i hope to avoid it.

    PS: Windows is Version 21H1 (19043.1288) with all the updates installed.

    Yes I have tried multiple reboots, Forza Horizon 5 + Gaming Services resets from Settings>Apps>advanced options, uninstall and reinstall and turned off firewall.

    I have also tried running sfc /scannow from an elevated CMD window (+reboot after) as per suggestion found online for 0xc0000005 error code.

    After this I opened a ticket to Forza Support, as per your suggestion, and they said this is not an in-game issue, so they redirected me back here for support :)

    I managed to restore the OS via the image tool.

    All went good and I was able to download the game this time, but unfortunately I can't launch it :(

    No other info is provided, like error code.

    Is there a log somewhere so I can at least see an error code, or what went wrong?

    Hi, my name is Fernando and I am an independent consultant for Microsoft products.

    Let's try the following:

    1. Press the Windows + R keys.

    2. Type in the Run window: wsreset.exe

    3. Click OK.

    This should normalize the behavior of the Store.

    If the issue persist:

    I see that you have tried the command for all users... but try it again please:

    Open the Command Prompt as an administrator by pressing the Windows + X keys and selecting the Command Prompt (Admin) option.

    Copy and paste the command:

    powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML

    If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.
