Can't download games PC Game Pass, stuck on "Downloading 0%"

Gigabit internet, no other application has download issues. Not even the Windows store app.

Have tried reinstalling the Xbox app, reinstalling gaming services, using a VPN, turning off IPv6, temp disable firewall, using a differnt drive. No matter what, downloading is stuck at 0% for any game and I can't download anything. Sort of feels like I'm being scammed as I have had game pass for a week and haven't been able to download one game (plus the Xbox Support Chat errors out so can't use that either).

    Any suggestions?

    :)

    Hello Jawrduhn,

Welcome to Xbox Forums. We appreciate for sharing your concern with us and we hope that you are doing well today.

We understand that you are experiencing downloading games on PC Game Pass. As per description, you have already tried reinstalling Xbox apps and gaming services but still download resulted to 0%.

Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern. However, before we proceed, we would like to ask few questions about it.

    1. What is the current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)
    2. When did the problem start?
    3. Was this working before?
    4. Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?

These above questions would help us provide the necessary information. Once we have gathered all the information, we will formulate the viable solution to help you with your case.

For the meantime, here are some suggestions that might help:

    1. Install every pending Windows Update.
    2. Reset the Windows Store Cache.
    3. Enable delivery optimization.
    4. Change the Startup type of Windows Update to Automatic.
    5. Repair or reset the Xbox App.
    6. Reinstall the Xbox GamePass app.
    7. Use a VPN when you start the download.
    8. Disable IPV6.

You can find more detailed instructions on how to perform these steps in this link,

    Can't download Thief

You're not the only one.... I can't download any Gold games at all (stuck at 0% installing), and no apps load, either.

    Sniper Elite V2 not downloading

Same here! Mostly stuck on 0%. Sometimes it will download, but really, really slow. Can't do anything else, otherwise it cancels the download... Have 90Mbit download, on PS3, PC, Phone, tablet there's no problem. Keep getting corrupt files, incomplete downloades,
etc. (Southpark SoT), so I cleared cache, delete/downloaded profile and even formatted the HDD. But now I can't download all my games again because of the slow/not working xbox live services...

Can't download Game Pass games on Series X, stuck at 0%

    Hi, Taunya Farman.

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

From your description, I understand that you are unable to download games on your Xbox Series X. I understand your confusion about this problem.

First of all, it is commendable that you have tried to solve the problem by yourself by trying to restart the console, check the network connection, clear the browser cache, and check the storage space.

Maybe other users can troubleshoot according to the solutions you have tried when encountering similar problems. Here, please allow me to express my gratitude to you.

In fact, there is a user who encountered the same problem as you. He encountered this problem when installing disc games by unplugging the external storage device and installing the game on the console's internal storage.

Please unplug the power cord from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cord from both devices. After 5 minutes, plug in the modem or gateway first, and wait for all the lights to return to normal before trying to start the Xbox console.

Sometimes this may be due to the network. Please try the following:

    • Try to use a mobile hotspot first to see if the same problem occurs. This step is to help you rule out network problems.
    • Change the DNS settings to a public DNS address. For example, Google DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1). After changing the DNS, you need to restart your network devices and computer for the settings to take effect.
Disclaimer: Before performing any reset or restart operations, make sure you have backed up all important data.

Xbox console steps to change DNS: Select "Profile and system" > "Settings" > "General" > "Network settings".

Under "Advanced settings", select "DNS settings". Select "Manual", which will go to "Primary DNS server".

In addition, you can also try to contact Xbox support and report the problem you encountered to them and seek further help from them.
