    Hello everyone,

    I've already red numerous threads regarding this topic, but now have come to the conclusion to ask my questions here.

    So basically I was able to play as usual as it has always been (State of Decay 2) and never had any problems.

    Since yesterday, nothing really works anymore. I've kept receiving the same error messages, telling me to "reinstall Gaming Services" etc. etc.

    Reinstalling this "Gaming Service" was a pain by itself, but I somehow managed to do it. The Microsoft Store works and downloads it without any problems.

    But, whenever I want to install a game via the Microsoft Store, the "Install"-button just greys out and nothing happens. After a few minutes I can click it again to select my installfolder, but nothing happens and it just repeats.

    Using the Xbox App doesnt really work aswell. It keeps on telling me, whenever I want to install any game, that I have to download the "Gaming Services" in order to install the game.

    As I've already written above, the downloading of the "Gaming Service" works just fine.

    I have no clue, spent 2-3 hours on this problem, but I hardly want to reset my computer just for this one game. I'm desperate and seeking help from the community.

    Here are some things I already tried:
    -terminating, repairing and resetting the Gaming Service, Xbox App and Microsoft Store
    -Various cmd-commands and powershell
    -deleting the "Gaming Service (.net)" from regedit
    -completely removing the game from my computer

    ...aswell as restarting my pc after every (hopeless) attempt.

    You won't find them on the app. You would need to download the Games for Windows app again, and launch the game from there. Good luck getting the app to work, as many users are stating they can't get it to work on Windows 10 or Windows 11.

    Please click the link and follow the below steps to update your existing Windows 10 version through the in_place update process. Visit the site below to start downloading the Media Creation Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

    1. Click on 'Download tool now'
    2. Double-click the MediaCreationToolxxxx.exe file to launch the tool.
    3. Click the Accept button to agree to the Microsoft terms.
    4. Select 'Upgrade this PC now' and click 'Next"
    5. If you see 'ready to Install scree' on top then click 'Install' will start the installation process

    Note: During the installation process, the PC will restart several times. For the remaining process please follow the on-screen 'Privacy' & 'Cortana' setup

    Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, you will need to click the install to download any digital content for PC.

    If you have a Windows 10 device, you can now use the Xbox app to connect to the Xbox Live service.
