Can't download free gold sunset overdrive

Ive been trying to download the free with gold membership Sunset Overdrive. The downlload gets stuck at 2% and then tries to que and install intermittently. Not sure what to do

Unable to access Sunset overdrive free for 24 hours

I have been unable to download sunset overdrive free for 24 hours, it doesn't give me the option to install it when I go to play sunset overdrive free I just have bundles, which is grayed out or buy the game for £44.99. I have a gold active gold sub and
can't figure out how to trial to work.

Have you tried to download the title while your console is in Offline mode? You can find that in Network Settings under Go Offline. The reason it is most likely stalling out is because it is trying to download the base game and the most recent update for
that game. Going Offline can fix that usually.

Not too sure about that suggestion. Its a digital download so basically you should be online. Offline installation are for game discs. Though I might be wrong.

But anyway, AsuraXY, if your console is connected wirelessly, I would recommend connecting it wired to make sure the connection is stable. You see, if the game is moving from installing then to queue. That means the connection was cut off. But it should
then resume when the connection is back to good.

 

Offline Mode can be used for both digital and physical games.

 

I'm having the same issue with this. I have tried stopping and starting the download repeatedly. I have tried just letting it sit and do its own thing but it stays at 2%. I saw about installing it in offline mode when the game first came out and you have
the physical copy. I'm not really sure how you can say you can install a digital game in offline mode because guess what happens when you go offline... Surprise it means your offline. How are we supposed to download the game when you can't access the store
because your offline. If anyone has a solution for this please let me know or if you found a trick to get it to work OP.

 

Kindly try to download a demo game first. Any small size game or a free game. Check if it will be downloaded and installed normally. If yes, then the possible issue would be is within the server where the game is being downloaded. If no, kindly check your
console Detailed Network Statistics. Settings>>all settings>>network>>network settings>>detailed network statistics. Check if it meets the minimum requirements.

 

When people say "offline", they mean the "always on" or standby mode, not literally "offline". So turn "Power Saving Mode" off.

 

I doubt that's what they mean. You see, you can set your console to Offline Mode on the network settings. This means you're setting your console to not use the network and connect online. It has nothing to do with the Power settings mode.

 

It is what they mean as it'll still download games and title updates when it's in standby, aka "offline mode".

Offline Mode is just that. Going to Network Settings and setting your console to Go Offline. The mode you are referring to is called Instant-On, which allows downloads, updates, etc. while "sleeping".

Ok, and how is the game supposed to download when there's no internet connection when you go "offline"? Doesn't make sense.

On a side note, I'm having the same issue as the OP being stuck at 2%. I've tried hard resets, canceling the download and trying again, standby, even "offline mode", etc. Nothing's helping the issue.

 

I've figured out a solution(hopefully this may help the OP).

So after many failed attempts to get past the 2%. I canceled the download, uninstalled DLC for the game(I had some installed), restarted game download. Now it's moving.

So if you happen to have any Sunset Overdrive DLC installed, uninstall the DLC until the game finishes up and redownload the DLC after it completes.

 

I am also having the same issue as OP and it has been ongoing. I'd like to hopefully get it to work before the game is no longer available.
