Can't download a game I purchased in the Microsoft store

I own Ark: Survival Evolved and I just want to host a server from my PC, but when I go to the Microsoft store, it says it needs to be installed through the Xbox app. Which is dumb in the first place, but whatever. I click download and it throws an error code. Some "0x08d2017" or something like that. If I clear it and retry, it no longer brings up an error code, but it stays at 0%. I have tried signing in and out of the store, resetting the store, restarting my PC... and a few other things, but no luck. A lot of the other troubleshooting steps require a level of understanding of PCs that I simply do not have. I should not have to have a degree in programming just to play a game that I own. Microsoft store is terrible, and to be honest, pretty much everything involving Microsoft is pretty well broken. I just want to be able to download the games that I've spent money on. Why is that such a complex endeavor?

Hi there welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Well, I suggest you try this:

Open the Settings app it is the gear in the start menu.

Open Accounts

Click Sign-in Options

Scroll down to Privacy

Uncheck "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update and restart."

Restart your PC!

I bought the battlefield 1 Revolution game and used the code to download the game on my old xbox, but I can't download the game on my new xbox, I tried to download the game again through the Microsoft
Store but the game can't because game is not marked as purchased.

What should I do?

I have a similar problem with a game I purchased on Christmas that failed to initialize download but payed for the content. It shows in my Microsoft account purchase history as having been purchased and includes an order number but doesn't show up in my
purchase history on Xbox account so can't add to download queue at all and when I go to the game's page on the store it wants me to re-buy it.

If It's a digital game then yes. There would be no disc.

I can't delete a game that doesn't exist and if I try to download it from the store it prompts me to purchase it again.
