Can't create new account's passkey

    Can't create new account's passkey


    Error codes: 0x80a40008; x80bd0001 (can't find info on last one). I added my user to brother's XB1 (never used account - gscore is 0, linked to MS account for some time), purchased a new gamertag without a problem, configured theme/avatar/etc,
    but the system won't let me create a passkey, only use my MS pass! Web connection & XBL work fine. Removing, restarting & re-adding account only refreshed my user data and there's only 5 users total (not too many, is it?) - any suggestions?

    You can add a passkey by going to the settings app, once you are on the settings app you should immediately see sign in security and passkey select that. Once you have selected that select change my sign-in & security preferences, after you select that
    select Ask for my passkey, if you do not have a passkey I believe it will let you create one. Once you have created the account's passkey go back to where you selected Ask for my passkey but don't select it this time instead go to the right and you should
    see Customize select it. Once you have selected it you should see Ask for my passkey at sign-in select it and choose passkey not required. Then you're done!

    Unfortunately, I have not found an answer to this but I recommend creating a passkey to your account so only people with the passkey can have access to your account. Please refer to this website to learn how to create a passkey:

    Create a child account and lock the adult account with passkey or password. This separates the accounts so children can't access payment methods.

    You can remove it and reset it up if you want or don't set a new one up.

    Remove Your Passkey:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select System > Settings > Account.
    3. Select Sign-in, security & passkey.
    4. Select Delete my passkey.

    Change Your Passkey:

    Once your passkey has been removed, you can create a new one:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select System>Settings>Account.
    3. Select Sign-in, security & passkey.
    4. Select Create my passkey.
    5. Enter a six-digit passkey, and then re-enter it to confirm.
