Can't connect Xbox 1 controller to Windows 11 PC. All drivers up to date

Are you experiencing this issue with wired (USB cable) connection or wireless (Bluetooth) connection? And what exactly are you experiencing, it does not recognize the controller or it just does nothing when connected? Kindly add more details to the issue you're facing. Always happy to assist.

The issue cannot be an out of date sound driver since I checked multiple times that that the sound driver is up to date.

Can you make sure your Windows system is up to date as well as all of your device drivers?

Also try connecting the controller into different USB ports as some PC's have different kinds of USB ports.

If it's Windows 10, it should be recognized automatically. I would make sure the PC is up to date and all of the drivers are up to date as well.

try these other steps

1. Try a different USB port:

Unplug the controller and try plugging it into a different USB port on your PC.

2. Check for Windows updates:

Make sure Windows is fully up to date, as this may resolve compatibility issues.

3. Remove other USB devices:

Unplug all other USB devices from your PC before attempting to connect the controller.

4. Check controller settings:

Access the controller settings in Windows (right-click the controller icon in Device Manager and select "Properties").

Make sure the drivers are installed correctly.

If there are any issues, try reinstalling the drivers manually.

5. Check if the game is set up to use a controller:

Make sure the Guitar Hero game is set up to recognize and use Xbox 360 controllers. Refer to the game's documentation for information on how to set up the controller
