can't connect to xboxlive after router update

Probably depends on the router configuration. Try setting a static IP address on the console and set open DNS:

DNS1 (8.8.8.8)

DNS2 (8.8.4.4)

However, for safety, try contacting your landlord. He may have entered resticts on the router configuration.

that doesn't sound good. It is always bad if there is no access to the router/modem. First I would try to change the DNS, because this you can change and sometimes it help to fix problems.

My landlord updated our wireless, now it's a 2g/5g hookup, and since then I can't connect to xboxlive.

When I test network connection it says everything is ok

Multiplayer test says can't finish

Detailed network statistics says: dl speed not av, latency not av, upload speed not av, wireless strength 100%, packet loss and mtu not available.

Under current network status it says ipv4 and ipv6, nat type unavailable, then "the following services are experiencing issues: (nothing is here or on the xbox site about ongoing related isdues).

I'm also having problems with my phone. It will connect, but then no page ever loads up...

I'm just at a loss as to what to try after trying all the basic: turning everything off and on, logging out of my account and back in, etc.

And I don't have access to the network settings, so it's hard to figure out what's going on just fiddling with things.

If before router update all was ok and now othing works, the problem is in the router and his new config, without access to router settings you no choice, you must contact your landlord.

for an issue like this you may have to contact your landlord, since that is the only thing that changed, right?

If multiple devices are having issues with internet after that, then that would be the logical cause and might not be something that you can change from your devices.

I fixed mine by following Shadowman's instructions; I changed router cipher to WPA2-AES and it worked instantly. thanks.
