Can't connect to xbox for remote play from windows

The xbox console companion worked great and worked all the time. However, I recently upgraded to an Xbox Series X which the console companion doesn't connect to. So I'm forced to use the "Xbox" app on windows 11. This app is horrible and is extremely slow and unresponsive. The problem now is that I can't even connect to the xbox at all from it. When clicking the console (which does show up in the list) the little spaceship animation plays, then the screen goes black and it hangs for minutes before showing the following error every single time.

Well unfortunately it has stopped working. So I'm not sure if that was actually a solution or if things just randomly worked for a few times.

Feel free to give it a try each one if you want

1. Try using the Xbox insider app to see if the issue persists.
For this download the Insider Hub app from the Microsoft store and join to the Xbox Gaming program

2. Disable IPv6 on your router settings to see if that does the trick:

Open the Control Panel in Windows.
After opening the control panel, set the “View by” on the top-right corner to “Large icons“.
Click on the “Network and Sharing Center” option.
Here, click on the “Change adapter settings” link on the left panel.
Now, right-click on the active network adapter and select “Properties“.
Go to the “Networking” tab.
Here, uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” option.
Click on the “Ok” button to save changes.
Then close all the windows, restart your PC and try again

3. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

Are you on any Windows insider version?

If it's not your case, did you tried reinstalling the Xbox app or delete the actual one and download the .exe from here:

I was trying to replicate your issue, and I was able to remote play with A/V receiver turned on (and basically all HDMI-CEC features enabled) on my Series X and S consoles (with the TV off and on)

I tried using both Windows 11 and 10 PC's and no problem at all.

I'm currently using this Xbox app version on Windows 11 (picture)

On Windows 10 I'm using Xbox version 2207.1001.6.0

Gaming services 4.66.30001.0

Game Bar 5.822.6271.0

Your Xbox app version is the same?

And, is the one available from Microsoft Store? or the one downloaded from Xbox.com
