Can't connect to multiplayer in Microsoft games

Hi,

I use Windows 10 to play most of my games, and recently I wanted to play some Halo Infinite (via Steam). I launched the game, opened the "Multiplayer" tab, and when I selected a game mode, red text at the bottom said that the services could not be reached. I searched the internet for answers, but I couldn't find anything very specific. Still itching for some Halo, I opened Master Chief Collection (also through Steam) and began a multiplayer search. Almost immediately, the game kicked me back to the mode selection menu. I tried to connect a few more times before giving up. Just out of curiosity, I opened Minecraft and tried to connect to a server. Sure enough, I was met with a "Could not connect to world" screen. I know Minecraft works for private worlds, because I played online with some friends recently, so I assume it's a server-side issue. Every game signs me in, but something gets messed up once I try to play. Any other online games work fine. I've had this account for years, and I'd love to get back to playing my favorite games, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I tried all of your suggestions except for re-installing Steam, since Minecraft is not through Steam and it still has this issue. Unfortunately, none of these seemed to work.

Check your Internet connection: Make sure your internet connection is stable and has enough bandwidth for online gaming.
Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, Firewall or Antivirus software can block certain applications from accessing the internet. Check your firewall and antivirus settings to make sure they're not blocking access for these games.
Update Games and Steam: Ensure that both Halo Infinite, Master Chief Collection, Minecraft, and Steam are updated to their latest versions.
Verify Game Files in Steam: In the Steam client, go to your Library > right-click on the game > Properties > Local Files tab > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
Reset Winsock Data: You can reset Winsock data which handles input/output requests for internet applications on Windows:
- Press Win + X keys together and select Command Prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin).
- Type netsh winsock reset in command prompt then press Enter.
- Restart your PC after it's done.

I understand you're running into a multiplayer issue where games like Terraria and Palworld show "checking status" and then push you to the Game Pass subscription screen, but the screen shows “no available offers,” and you already have an active Game Pass subscription. I know how confusing that is, especially when your NAT type is moderate, and multiplayer usually works fine.

Here’s what you can try to fix this:

1. Double-check your subscription status

Just to make sure your profile is recognizing the correct Game Pass level:

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Make sure the subscription is showing as active under the same account you're signed into on your Xbox or PC

If you have Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate, those are required for multiplayer on console. PC Game Pass alone doesn’t support console multiplayer.

2. Remove and re-add your profile

If your account info is stuck or misfiring:

On Xbox:

Go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts and remove your profile

Restart your console

Then go to Add new and sign in again using your Microsoft account

This refresh often resolves subscription recognition issues.

3. Check if you're signed in on the correct device profile

Sometimes, another user profile might be signed in, or you’re launching the game under a different user than the one with Game Pass.

Go to Settings > General > Sign-in, security & passkey

Make sure you're the primary signed-in user

You can also set your Xbox as your Home console so other profiles can share your Game Pass benefits if needed

4. Clear system cache

To make sure nothing’s stuck in the background:

Hold the power button on your Xbox until it turns off

Unplug it for at least 2 minutes

Plug it back in and power on

Then launch the game again and try multiplayer.

I'm having a similar issue in which i can connect to live, watch youtube and access the store but I can't play multiplayer within a game or access party chat. When i check my detailed NAT it says "there is a firewall(or it is not connected)" and when I check
my multiplayer connection it says it "can't get a Teredo IP address.
