Can't connect to Microsoft chat

This is probably the wrong forum for this, so mods feel free to move.

I'm having issues with my gamertag and profile and was hoping to chat to Microsoft support to resolve it. However, when I attempt to send a submission form to start a chat I can't enter my name into the boxes as they're greyed out. Consequently, when I try
to submit the form it says I have 'invalid data' because my name hasn't been entered. But I can't see any way of putting my name in. Does anyone know how I can solve this? TIA

Xbox live connection problem

Hi my xbox360 can't connect to xbox live. I have had a chat with a employ at Microsoft and it was still no good so they told my to contact you.

Can't connect to Xbox Live Parties

Every time I try to connect to a Xbox live Party it says Can't Connect to Party. I also can't connect to Private Chat as well.

I cleared my cache.

if chat is not working for some reason consider calling support at 1-800-469-9269. most likely a temporary issue with the website.

It's been like this for three days now.

Also I'm in Ireland so it will cost me a fortune to call that number from a mobile. I'm trying to request a call from Microsoft but it's also saying my that my phone number is invalid. I've tried all the international dialling code combination I can think
of but to no avail still.

Is there any other way I can contact Microsoft?

the number I dug up for Irelands xbox support is 1 800 509 186. not sure if that is correct but if it looks correct its worth a try.

Do you mean your party chat session with someone disconnected or that you can't connect to party chat at all?

If you can't connect to party chat at all please first make sure you have gold membership here:

Gold is required for party chat.

Also check here to see if you have an enforcement action that has suspended/banned you from using party chat:

That's an excellent point Genchy.

You get some moron who can't figure out Party Chat boldly proclaiming they are defecting to Sony after 75 years of loyal Microsoft Custom because Microsoft cannot get Party Chat to work right ... and it turns out they're connected to the Internet via a USB
3G dongle and mom is watching Netflix at the same time on the same network.

GTA V ridicules and lampoons Apple hilariously, especially their policy of drip feeding tech.

I can't blame Microsoft for trying it on but the OP is right to call them on it.

Just to update. I tried wiring the Xbox directly to the modem and I still can't chat.

I also had previously tried connecting the Xbox wirelessly via hot spot from my phone with no success.

I sincerely believe there is a software glitch on Microsoft's side that kills headset chat for certain consoles and/or users.

The link's advice does not work, all my friends have open nats and we still keep getting "can't connect to chat" errors, there seems to some correlation between ingame chat and party chat, for example, if one of us is in BF4 then joining chat seems to fail,
if we are all at Xbox home, it seems to connect.

Go figure!

He is the only person I can't connect to and I am the only person he can't connect to. I tried all the connection tests in the help thing and we still can't fix it. Nothing changed. Private chat doesn't work between us and we can only communicate in messages.
