    Can't Claim Xbox 360 Gold Games on Xbox One


    Hello,

    I've claimed all the Live Gold free games for this month, except Sonic Generations, an Xbox 360 game. I tried claiming it on my Xbox One, but whenever I click "See Price", it says: Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox. I tried downloading
    it from the Microsoft website and marketplace, but whenever I hit "Download to Xbox 360," it redirects me to the Xbox homepage (just xbox.com). On the Microsoft Store on Windows, it takes me to the Xbox homepage whenever I click "See Price."

    I have a teen account, and I've heard that they are restricted from buying Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. I can't think of a single good reason why that restriction exists. I also read that you have to claim these on an Xbox 360 console. I do have a friend
    who has an Xbox 360, but I can't really go to his house; you should know why if this post is viewed within 3 months. Anyways, I'm kind of out of options. Microsoft really has a lot of annoyances like this that need to be fixed. If anyone has any other ideas
    or anything that worked for them, please let me know. Thanks!

    360 games on One.

    To claim 360 games with gold for xbox one you need to have linked with the account a valid method of payment, credit card. In this case a purchase of 0,00$ is registered while claiming the game.

    Since the account is that of a minor and not allowed to purchase online, it cannot claim the 360 games with gold for xbox one.

    When Xbox games with gold existed u get Xbox 360 games free and Xbox one games free. The Xbox one games u claim for free are only free with a gold subscription when it was gold. Now it's gamepass core. But when Xbox games with gold was a thing the Xbox 360 games u get for free are permanent. But Xbox one games are not. U have to keep ur gamepass core to have access to your free to play Xbox one games with gamepass core that u claimed with gold back then.

    Games With Gold games are only available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One and are only downloadable from the consoles, you can't get them any other way.
    I'm afraid that's not entirely correct. It is correct that Games with Gold titles are only compatible for the console for which they are released; for example, claiming "Tekken 6" this month for Xbox 360 does not grant access on PC or any other non-Xbox
    device. Since the game is back-compatible on Xbox One, it can be played there, too, of course.

    However, when a user visits the Xbox Store on the web and they are signed on with their Microsoft account, any subscriptions/entitlements are taken into consideration when reviewing a title. For example, if the game is part of Games with Gold, the user can
    go ahead and claim the title on the web, then install it when they get to their console.

    When Games With Gold first appeared for Xbox One, many users still just had Xbox 360. Major Nelson himself advised Gold subscribers to go ahead and claim Xbox One titles if they planned on upgrading to Xbox One in the future.
