    Can’t claim games with gold on two accounts with home console set.


    My housemate and I both have gold memberships and both, for the time being, use the same console so we can share games.

    Up until the last update, we could both claim games with gold but now are unable to with either of us having the home console option selected.

    With neither of us having this option selected, we can’t share games but we can both claim our game with gold. Is there a solution to this?

    It seems to me that the store might be the problem. They’ve removed the option to “get” the game if it’s been claimed by another account (even when it’s logged out) instead saying something along the lines of “you can share this game”.

    I have a gold account on my Xbox one, it’s set as my home Xbox, my sister added her account, with no gold, and she can’t go online or do anything that gold allows, even though she’s added to my home Xbox with my gold profile there, I’m really confused, someone

    If the gold is tied to your account, you would be sharing gold in either scenario. You can only share gold on one console at a time. You can set another console as your Home console so you can share your gold there, and you can use your gold on any console

    Hey Chris thanks for taking the time to bring this inquiry to us bud, we suggest

    removing and re-adding     both profiles from the console since the issue seems to be originating from the profile. If that is attempted to no avail then the next step would be a reset of the console since

    the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

    Soft Factory Reset     (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

    • There is a stable network connection.
    • The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

    Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

    Another thing you can do is go to this website, sign in with the account that has the gold on it and click on the game and it will take you through the process to get the license for the game on that account and give you the option of what console to download
    it to.

    That’s not a bad idea, thanks! I was going to suggest one of us use the mobile app but you can’t purchase 360 games on the app. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Ok, simply put

    Child One has Xbox Live Gold and games.

    Child two has their own console.

    Child one sets child twos console to their home xbox. Thus allowing the sharing of child ones Live Gold and games.

    Child one signs out and ensures auto login is switched off on child twos console.

    Child one can login on any other console and have access to their games and Live Gold etc.

    Edit: You can only have one Xbox console set as your Home Xbox console. As soon as you set another Xbox console as Home Xbox, it cancels the other out. So all having the 3rd console set as Home Xbox will wipe the other Home shares out.

    Yes the Home Xbox is designed for use on one console and it will work as described with two consoles in the house. A third console would need its own Xbox Live account for the third person to be able to use Live Gold etc.

    Unfortunately there is no way around digital transfers between accounts.

    Microsoft Family is only for you asa an adult to be able to monitor your childrens accounts, as long as they are set up as the correct age and not attempting to bypass the restrictions that a child account has.
