cant change the default hard drive to where games will install

I have an external hard drive and before the game was install on the console hard drive and the DLC on the external.

This night I changed the default install location and download the DLC for the third time.

It's seems to work know.

Try changing the default location for new apps in Windows to your preferred hard drive location and then try installing the game again.

Go to Settings -> System -> Storage -> Change where new content is saved (under 'More Storage Settings'). Change the setting "New Apps will install to:" to the drive you want to use.

Kindly check if there's enough space. If not, try cleaning up your disk to create more space.

I had this issue recently, where I thought it was using the external drive, but it was installing to the internal. I had to change the default, reset, change the default back, reset and then it worked fine.

games under a certain size will only install to the defualt storage location that is set for apps and games under settings/storage/change where to store.

large games will let you choose a drive.

basically change the default storage location for apps and games to another drive.
